We utilize Compaq Proliant Series servers
running Windows 2000 Server located in our Internet Data Center (IDC) for all
Windows virtual server hosting. All servers use Microsoft IIS 5.0 for HTTP service.
In addition, all mail and database servers are separate and distinct from the
Web Servers, thus removing the function of SMTP, POP3 and SQL services from the
HTTP servers insuring a speedy response time.
UNIX Virtual Hosting Plans
HostRemote only uses Sun Colbalt RAQ4 servers running Linux located in our Internet
Data Center for all UNIX virtual server hosting. All servers offer a high level
of reliability and scalability. Specifically, the Cobalt RAQ4 and Linux Operating
System are known for its robust ability to process large amounts of server load
with optimum uptime.
